The 82-year-old pastor implored Nigerians to support the President and his ministers while addressing journalists on Tuesday, August 22, 2023, prior to the start of his church's Global Crusade on Thursday.

Kumuyi advised Nigerians to stop criticizing the president's every move, stating that if they accepted his administration, God would use Tinubu and his cabinet to construct the country. He stated, "If you examine the new ministers individually, you will see the positive things they have accomplished as former state governors or former ministers, and I would say they were meticulously chosen. We believe that God will use them as instruments to develop our nation if we support and accept them and refrain from criticizing their every action.

Therefore, he urged Nigerians to forget the past, asserting that President Tinubu would introduce new things to the country. "Let us let go of the past. This is a new day, and I believe we all have faith that our president and cabinet members will usher in new developments for the nation.
